Christopher Chard LSWPP is a full time photographer based in Chippenham, Wiltshire. His career a professional photographer began when he joined the photographic unit of one of the West Country’s largest industrial companies. Charged with creating interesting and powerful images for this mainly railway business, this took him all over the UK and beyond.

In 1982 Christopher qualified with the Master Photographers Association. Always in the back of his mind was the idea to head up his own photography business, and in 1988, Christopher Chard Photography was formed. Now his creative skills could be utilised by a much wider range of businesses. Soon a photo lab was added to the business, and then inevitably he turned his attention to weddings. Photographing people had always been something which felt very natural and weddings seemed to be a very easy progression. Christopher’s wedding photography has developed and evolved into his own very individual style. Having a photo lab in the studio meant that very high print quality was achievable and his skills as a printer were integral in the drive for perfection in all images. As digital technology arrived, his darkroom skills easily transferred to the computer, and the new creativity that Photoshop provided, was gratefully received.
